About Me - Elle Ross

"I’m the founder of First Steps Financial Education, with over 18 years of experience in the financial planning industry. I hold a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, a Diploma of Stockbroking, and completed the important financial planning exam. Throughout my career, I’ve supported families, professionals, and business owners in building confidence around money, and was proud to be awarded the Women in Finance ‘Financial Adviser of the Year’ in 2017, as well as a finalist in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

After selling my financial planning business to focus on raising my young family, I wanted to use my experience in a way that gives others the tools to take control of their financial future—without the pressure or complexity. First Steps is my way of sharing simple, practical education and mentoring, to empower people of all ages to understand money as the first step toward freedom."

A little bit more.

During my career in financial planning, I have developed strong expertise in strategic planning, superannuation, retirement preparation, estate planning, risk protection and cashflow management. My strength lies in simplifying complex concepts and empowering people to feel confident about money at every stage of life—from young adults managing their first income to families balancing priorities and retirees planning their legacy.

I also partner with schools to deliver tailored financial education programs, helping the next generation build practical money skills early. Importantly, I provide individuals with access to clear, practical financial education without requiring them to commit to formal financial advice. Drawing on my experience I combine technical knowledge with real-world insight to create approachable and impactful financial education.

“Knowledge is the stepping stone to confidence, and confidence is the pathway to freedom.”
